LONG MEADOW LANDINGS APARTMENT COMMUNITY WILL CELEBRATE THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING AFTER A FIRE DESTROYED 18 HOMES IN JUNE OF 2010

At 5:00pm on Thursday, January 12^th Long Meadow Landings Apartment Community located at 55 South Road in Groton, CT will celebrate the grand re-opening of an apartment building that caught on fire in June of 2010. The fire destroyed 18 homes and damaged six others.

After a year and a half of construction, residents have begun to move into the newly constructed two bedroom & loft style apartments which feature cherry and maple cabinetry, all new appliances, private balconies and in-home washers & dryers. The grand re-opening event is open to the public and will include a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, FREE door prizes, apartment tours and refreshments.

Newport, RI based Landings Real Estate Group, the parent company of Long Meadow Landings, began planning the rebuild of the apartment building shortly after the fire. Nearly 18 months later, Landings is kicking off the New Year by welcoming residents into their brand new homes.

"We were shocked and devastated by the fire that destroyed our apartment building; however, we were extremely grateful that no one was injured and that we were able to rebuild," said Christopher Bicho, President of Landings Real Estate Group.
